BDR and PPATEC announce hands-on training partnership
SEATTLE — Dec. 17, 2025 — Business Development Resources (BDR), the training and business coaching authority for home services professionals, has announced a new partnership with PPATEC, the technical education provider for the Pennsylvania Petroleum Association.
The partnership will bring live, hands-on training programs to PPATEC’s Grantville facility, combining BDR’s business and service-department expertise with PPATEC’s technical training environment. The initial rollout includes two in-person courses led by experienced BDR coaches.
The first course, Managing & Growing Service Profitably, will be taught by Jennifer Shooshanian, BDR senior service coach and trainer. Designed for business owners and service managers, the course presents a structured framework for running a profitable service department, drawing on strategies and processes used by top-performing HVAC companies. The course is scheduled for February 25–26, 2026.
The second offering, Top Gun Technician Excellence, will be led by Shaun Weiss, BDR head coach and trainer. The course focuses on improving technician communication skills and establishing a consistent service delivery process, with the goal of reducing callbacks and increasing customer referrals. This course will be held March 31–April 1, 2026.
“We are excited to partner with PPATEC to deliver in-person training events for home service contractors,” said Matt MacArthur, senior vice president of training and marketing for BDR. “Both classes are proven, highly engaging programs backed by real-world results that help HVAC teams strengthen performance heading into the new year.”
PPATEC’s training center provides a modern learning environment that includes both classroom instruction and realistic lab settings. The facility serves entry-level students as well as experienced technicians and contractors seeking to sharpen skills and advance their teams.
“It is our goal to be a full-service training provider for the home service industry,” said Ted Harris, executive vice president of PPATEC. “Our core competency is hands-on technical training for service and installation technicians. Partnering with BDR allows us to extend beyond technical instruction and offer education focused on profitability and customer communication, adding value for our members and industry partners.”
